Position: PT Afternoon Nanny
Rate: $25/hour (DOE)
Location: Santa Monica
Schedule: Monday's 1pm - 7pm, Wednesday's 12pm - 7pm and Thursday's 1pm - 7pm. Occasional Date Nights

Our clients are a fun-loving, dance party in the kitchen, spontaneous costume performance, twister - playing family! They love to go on adventures to the beach, walk through tide pools and find sea creatures. They read a lot, are outside a lot, do arts and crafts… learning experiences are huge for them- museums and learning based centers like the science museum.
They have a darling 4 1/2 year old boy and almost 7 year old girl. BIG NOTE: Their boy has severe nut allergies, (family can explain all later), dust mites, cat dander. You must have experience with an EpiPen (or trained) and it’s crucial he is always monitored for what is he is eating, he also has asthma and some respiratory issues. He will be starting kindergarten in the fall. Their daughter is in first grade and is having a hard time at school, if you have experience in tutoring that’s a plus, though not required. Sadly -they just lost their grandmother in September, so the kids are in a bit of a regression and emotionally and the parents are helping them through this, the best they can. Their values include kindness, honesty, truth, vulnerability, love, and they always respect their children, keeping the boundaries/rules set for them, a consistent schedule, a kind gentle yet firm manner is of utmost importance. They practice mindfulness and are open about talking about spirituality but not forcing any certain religion on them. They are very active children, very brave and almost too brave- Ha! They love to go to the park, climb structures, ride their scooters, and swim, soccer, dance, all the things. If you have any expertise or have been a lifeguard in your past also a big plus as they have a pool in the backyard. (Not a necessity but must know how to swim!) They are amazing little humans, considerate, kind, and carry such beautiful love and compassion for others. They need a person who is trustworthy, kind, consistent (especially with moods and emotions around the kids.) Someone who is reliable and respects them and follows the needs that they ask for. English first language only. Their last nanny was a former pre-school teacher- had a graduate degree in early childhood education. She just gave notice as she is returning to nursing school from which she had been on hiatus. The family lives on the border of Santa Monica and Venice. Please be comfortable with pets as they have a small dog and a big dog, and a cat who stays in a separate room always. Both parents are working, and would need a 6 month at least commitment from their nanny, and will do a 2 week trial. Their doormat says “welcome to the jungle”! Enough said.
